Happy Anniversary Baby!

Posted on 11:38 by Unknown
Today is our 7th anniversary :).  I guess I need to mention that before I post other random pictures from yesterday.  Happy Anniversary baby!  I love you!

Yesterday, while out shopping and enjoying the gorgeous weather, Andrew and I both went into a store where we wanted to look around.  What do good parents do that want to shop with their one and two year olds?  They give the two year the rest of Mommy's Starbucks and the one year the rest of Daddy's potato chips.  Problem solved.  What good parents Andrew and I are :).

In this picture, I said "hey guys, say 'cheese'".  Well, Kensington said it and Smith turned around with this look like, "what, we have cheese?".  I need to have them say a word that doesn't make him hopeful for a snack.

These suspenders were Sean's when he was little.  My parents got them out and tried them on Smith.  (Side note: my mom probably kept two things of mine as a child and two things of Sean's.  We're not "savers" to say the least, so these suspenders must be very important).  They were too big on little Smith but he looked super cute!

My mom had to cross them in front to fit.

Smith fell asleep while eating dinner.  Little man was tuckered out!

Andrew leaned the highchair back and we let him sleep.  Sweet boy.

Things...

Posted on 10:04 by Unknown
Here are just some random things about my kiddos these days:
1. I'm trying to drop Smith's morning nap and just do one big nap in the afternoons.  He's not happy about this.  At 11:30 today, he was crying and rubbing banana (part of his lunch) in his eyes because he was so exhausted.  Ugg...this is a hard transition.

2. Smith is saying about 8 words outside of "mama" and "dada".  Today, he was saying "jump" and bending his knees (without actually jumping) but I knew what he meant and thought it was cute.  When we dropped off K at school, he said "bye bye Kensington" and she said "ohhh, he said 'bye bye Kensington', that's so cute!".  They're too cute.

3. Smith can point and identify a dog, cat and horse.  He also says "ruff, ruff" and "neigh, neigh".  (When you have a two year old sister OBSESSED with horses, you learn quickly.)

4. Smith is walking 75% of the time and crawling the other 25%

5. I bought Kensington a new pair of shoes and she wore them today for the first time.  She said "thank you so much mommy for my new shoes" four times before we left for school.  It was so sweet.  It makes me want to go buy her 5 more pair of shoes just to hear her thank me :).

Here she is explaining to me that her shoes light up when she walks.  (FYI, the Pottery Barn Kids chair cover is being washed as this picture was taken...that's why she's sitting on the dismantled chair pad)

This is Kensington showing me her sad face.

And this is Kensington showing me her surprised face.

Remember her?

Posted on 11:23 by Unknown
This is Tulip.
She weighs 3.4 pounds.

She is the cranky old woman who lives in our house.

Occasionally, I do hold her.  Occasionally.  Usually she's too busy trying to eat the two small children that live here too.

Red Sox Birthday!

Posted on 14:06 by Unknown
Tomorrow is my sweet Dad's birthday :).  We celebrated all day yesterday with two parties!  The second party was at my Grandmother's house and of course, the theme was Boston Red Sox.  The theme was a surprise to my dad, so my mom asked me how we would get him in a Red Sox shirt (to match the rest of us) and of course I said that my dad ALWAYS wears a Red Sox shirt, so we probably wouldn't have to say anything.  When I saw him, he had on a Red Sox sweatshirt.  I know my dad.
This is Kensington before the party.  Lying on a Tinker Bell pillow, wrapped in a Belle blanket, crown up head (upside down none the less), watching Sleeping Beauty.  Such a girl!

 Yummy vanilla cupcakes!

 Yummy chocolate cupcakes!

 Smith and his Papaw

Miss Paisley was exempt from wearing baseball clothing because she has approximately 1.4 million outfits to wear before she turns one.

These are my kids playing together.  They've been outside and now they're following each other in.  They play together all the time now.

The silly Red Sox fans (Andrew is a Yankee but was kind enough to sport a Red Sox shirt for the occasion).  The other family members wouldn't cooperate for a group picture because they were "ready to eat".  My mom is rolling her eyes right now :).

There's one of those Ranger fans.  My sweet cousin Brooke!

Does this little girl have enough male attention or what?  Uncle Seanie, Papa Jay and Daddy are wrapped around her little finger.

Papa Jay about to blow out his candles.  Happy Birthday Dad!  We love you!!

Dinner with Landry

Posted on 14:51 by Unknown
The Shull family missed Landry's second birthday party because the roads were super icy, so we made up for it with dinner last night.  We got together and ate some very yummy BBQ with our sweet friends the Smiths.
All 3 kids crammed together at one end of the table.  They were so good during dinner!

 Smith being a cheese!

Kensington is listening very closely to whatever Kara is saying.  (which is probably "smile Kensington")

 Sweet little Landry

 I love these two!

I love this little guy too!

Kensington and Landry checking out her thermal tote

Me and Kara :)  Kara and I met in the sixth grade.  We also met this really sarcastic sixth grader named Tim too...who would have known they would one day be married and we'd be celebrating their little girl's birthday.  (PS: he is still the most sarcastic person I know :))

Happy Birthday Landry!

Seven

Posted on 14:35 by Unknown
So, on March 13, Andrew and I will be celebrating our 7th anniversary.  It has gone by sooooo fast!  It's hard to believe that 7 years ago today I was finishing off the last details for the big day.

Recently, my friend Sheaffer questioned the legitimacy of our marriage since she hasn't ever seen any photographs (I'm not one to keep old photos up at my house...even wedding photos).  So, here's your proof girl!

Three things you should know:
1. these pictures are horrible because I just grabbed my wedding album and took pictures of the pictures to post...very poor but you'll get the evidence that we were indeed married

2. For some reason, several pictures published the wrong direction even though I corrected them beforehand.  Excuse that, just tilt your head to see :)

3. Andrew was just 4 weeks away from being in the NFL at this point, so he is a VERY big boy in these pictures.  Very big.  Just a warning.

My maid of honor was my cousin Brooke, my bridesmaids were Liz, Kara, Erika, Carrie and Becky and my flower girl was Ellie Kate.

Me with Ellie Kate and Ethan

 The 4 Higginbotham cousins

See Sheaffer!  We're at the alter getting married!

Waiting for the church to clear so that we can go back and take group pictures.

The best part, cake.  Some brides are so pre-occupied with the day that they don't eat the cake.  Whatever?  I'm not that kind of bride.  I had two pieces of the bride's cake and one of the groom's.  Best part of the night :).

 Grooms cake

Everyone blowing bubbles on us while we danced.

Leaving the hotel under sparklers!
