Tangled Birthday
Posted on 16:48 by Unknown
Lovie's birthday is September 12 and Kensington's is September 15...my family prides itself on having individual parties for everyone (we really just want more reasons to eat cake) but since this year, we were flying home from Denmark on September 12...and jet lagged on September 15...somehow, Lovie and Kensington's birthdays got all tangled.
Lovie's mama (my grandmother) and Kensington's mama (me!) decided to throw a tangled up birthday party for the birthday girls. My sweet grandmother hosted at her house.
Pictures of Kensington and Lovie over the last three years
The invitations and decorations were custom created by Andrea at Slightly Askew Designs...she does AMAZING stuff people (including Christmas cards and blog design), so contact her for help with your next festive event.
Purple and pink popcorn were our party favors
And instead of party hats, we wore crowns.
Kensington and Lovie came together to their party. Here they are checking out the decor.
Me and Andrew
The birthday girl eating her dinner (she opted for pb&j...the rest of us ate yummy homemade enchiladas!).
My dad and his sister Lu
Our little king
I love this picture because it's indicative of my parents...always full of energy, chasing and playing with their grandkids.
Lovie bought horse-obsessed Kensington one to ride around on.
Smith loved it too!
Then we opened tons of presents!
Smith fed Papa (Papa Jay's dad) popcorn during present opening time. So sweet together.
First, we sang Happy Birthday to my mom (sorry mom...own your age...you look fantastic!)
Kensington singing loudly to Lovie...my dad looks like he's praying back there...
Then we sang Happy Birthday to Kensington!
Then we ate cake. Lots of cake!
This was such a special birthday. No two women will affect my life more than my mom and daughter. I am so blessed to have both of them and so blessed to have been able to share in their special day. Love you girls!

Northern Europe Day 12: Heading Home
Posted on 04:09 by Unknown
On this day, we headed home. I only took one picture...
...this truly sums up my kids on the 13 hour flight. We woke up at 4:00 AM, left the hotel and headed to the airport. We were blessed beyond words that the flight was only half full. This meant, that everyone on board was able to move around and stretch out. The Shull 4 claimed 8 seats. We were in Heaven. The kids slept a large part of the way home, but then when they were awake, they watched movies, colored and played quietly. They were sooooooooo good! I must give them credit!
We had a wonderful vacation. A huge adventure. We saw a part of the world that I've been wanting to see for a long time. Most of all, we were blessed beyond words to spend the time with my parents and grandparents. It's not often that four generations can do that. We love you Papa Jay, Lovie, Grandmother and Papaw! Next year, all new adventures! :)

Northern Europe Day 11: Copenhagen, Denmark
Posted on 04:19 by Unknown
Today, we said goodbye to the ship. We had such a good time on board but we were back in Copenhagen and had a full day ahead of us.
Smith sitting in the window box looking at the other docked cruise ships.
Kensington and Andrew in the cab on the way to the hotel.
After we checked in to our hotel, we hit the streets for shopping and food.
Grandmother, Ken and Andrew checking out the bakery. This bakery had some AMAZING cinnamon rolls that will be blogged about here later this week.
My sweet family in Copenhagen. Kensington is refusing to look at the camera and Smith is sound asleep.

Lunch outside
After we finished our shopping and lunch, we headed into Tivoli Park. This is the main"thing" to do in Copenhagen and for good reason. You pay admission to enter this part Central Park, part amusement park, part shopping center, part restaurant central place. We spent hours here. It was beautiful and full of things for us to do.
Everyone waiting outside a store.
Nap time for K
Look at this lettuce growing on top of this roof! So cool!
My dad (with one of the roller coasters in the background). This park had EVERYTHING!
Andrew and Smith rode around in an electric car.
So pretty!
Of course, we had to ride the carousal. Kensington picked the pretty horse...
...and Smith picked the giant giraffe that his petite mama could barely reach him riding.
Then Kensington wanted to ride an electric car. :)
We stopped off at Hard Rock for dinner (it was inside the park!).
Then let the kids play on a pirate ship.
And Kensington and her daddy flew around a bit.
Wow! What a full day in Denmark! Tomorrow...we head home :(.
